Vranov nad Dyjí is a small town hidden in the romantic valley of the Dyje River, with a diverse range of natural beauties and landmarks created by human hands over many centuries. The town’s dominant feature is the state Vranov nad Dyjí Château, which rises on a high rock above the Dyje River. A mention of the château dates back to the 12th century in Cosmas’s Chronicle. In the vicinity of Vranov are the recreational area of the Vranov Reservoir and the Podyjí National Park.
