Děčín is a district town in the Ústí nad Labem Region at the confluence of the Elbe and Ploučnice rivers and is the lowest-lying town in the Czech Republic. Its center has an elevation of 135 meters.
Děčín is a hub of the highly tourist-attractive area of Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland. Large parts of the city are part of the Elbe Sandstone Protected Landscape Area. Without a doubt, the greatest monument in the city is Děčín Castle, situated on a rock on the right bank of the Elbe above the confluence of the Elbe and Ploučnice.
