Josefův Důl is a dam located within the cadastral area of the municipality of the same name in the Jizera Mountains in northern Bohemia. The reservoir covers an area of 1.38 km². The average depth is 10 m. The main purpose of the dam is to store water for the production of drinking water. Therefore, there are no settlements or recreational areas in the vicinity of the dam, and a 1st and 2nd degree hygienic protection zone for the water source has been declared. Water from the reservoir is conveyed through an underground tunnel to the Bedřichov water treatment plant. The city of Liberec is supplied with drinking water.
