Karlova Studánka is a spa municipality located in the Bruntál District. The municipality has a swimming pool complex with hydrotherapy and thermotherapy, a gym and the Orlík fitness center, two tennis courts (an ice rink in winter), and in winter you can use a 600-meter-long ski slope.[9] A well-known and visited place in the spa is also an artificially built waterfall on the Bílá Opava River.
There are a total of 8 springs in Karlova Studánka. Some are named after famous figures, such as the Maximilian Spring after Maximilian, the son of Maria Theresa, who ordered the area around the municipality to be searched and thus these healing waters were found. All local springs have a high proportion of carbon dioxide thanks to peat bogs, which prevent it from venting. The springs can be tapped, for example, at the Drinking Pavilion, where the Vilém Spring is, or in the Libuše house.
