The town of Horšovský Týn has been a municipal heritage reserve since 1953 due to the preservation of its historical monuments. Among the most significant sites are the state castle and château of Horšovský Týn with its château park and the Královská rokle educational trail, or the Church of Saints Peter and Paul on Republic Square with an observation tower. Near the town there is a lookout tower on Šibeniční vrch, which offers views of the town, the surrounding area, and the Český les and Šumava mountain ranges.
