Bratislava is the capital and largest city of Slovakia. It lies on both banks of the Danube, in the southwestern part of the country, near the border with Austria and Hungary. Approximately 479 thousand people live here. The central part of the Old Town is a protected zone, and the historic core together with Bratislava Castle and the Castle District is a protected reserve.
