The town of Sušice, often also called the “Gateway to Šumava,” lies in the foothills of the Šumava Mountains on the edge of the Šumava National Park. The town offers a number of opportunities for cultural, sporting, and recreational activities. In part of the town, a municipal heritage zone has been declared, with many interesting buildings and sites. The surroundings of Sušice are typical for hiking, cycling, water tourism, and horseback riding.
