Nepomuk is a small historic town in the Plzeň Region, known mainly as the birthplace of Saint John of Nepomuk. Visitors are drawn to its peaceful center, the Church of St. James, the town museum, and monuments associated with this important figure in Czech history. Thanks to its location between Plzeň and South Bohemia, Nepomuk feels like a pleasant place to stop while traveling through the countryside of the Brdy foothills and southern Plzeňsko.

The town and its surroundings offer good opportunities for easy hiking and trips into nature. From Nepomuk, you can head, for example, to the Zelená Hora chateau, which stands on a prominent hill above the town and offers nice views of the surrounding landscape. The area is also suitable for cycling, walks along forest paths, and exploring smaller villages, ponds, and historic monuments in the region.
