The town of Jindřichův Hradec has a nice historic center located between the Nežárka River and the Vajgar Pond. The town’s main attractions include the castle and château, the Museum of the Jindřichohradecko region with the Krýza Nativity Scene, and the Church of St. John the Baptist. Two narrow-gauge railways run from Jindřichův Hradec: one south to Nová Bystřice and the other north to Obrataň.
