The oldest written record of Dobruška dates back to 1320. In the 19th century, the Dobruška region became one of the regional centers of the Czech National Revival. The town has centuries-old traditions of textile production, to which mechanical engineering production was added from the 19th century onward. Those interested in Czech history can visit the permanent exhibition in the birthplace of František Vladislav Hek, made famous by the writer Alois Jirásek in the novel F. L. Věk. Thanks to its location, comprehensive service facilities, and many monuments, Dobruška is an ideal starting point for exploring the natural beauty and historical attractions of the entire northern part of the Orlické Mountains and the Podorlicko region.
