Dačice is the natural center of the farthest tip of southwestern Moravia. The historic core of the town is a municipal heritage zone.
In the area in front of the tower of the parish church there is a granite monument to the sugar cube, because in the local refinery in 1841, and patented in 1843 by J. K. Radem, the first sugar cube in the world was produced.
