Blansko is a town in the South Moravian Region. It lies in the valley of the Svitava River, 19 km north of Brno. The Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area extends into the territory of Blansko and is among the most important karst regions in Central Europe. Among the interesting places in the town are the Blansko Château with its château park, the wooden Church of St. Paraskeva from the 17th century, and Klam's Ironworks from 1855—the last preserved ironworks furnace from the 19th century.
