Poledník Observation Tower is located on the mountain of the same name in the Šumava region. It was created from a former tower of a military electronic border surveillance facility, which made it possible to monitor radio traffic deep inside the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. The observation tower is the third highest-located observation tower in the Czech Republic.
Tourists can enjoy a unique view of the entire central Šumava and the Bavarian Forest and, in good visibility, even catch sight of the Alps.
