Pálava is located on the northwestern edge of the Pannonian Plain in the warmest and almost the driest region of the Czech Republic. In 1986, the Pálava Protected Landscape Area was included by UNESCO in the international network of biosphere reserves protecting examples of the world’s most significant ecosystems. Pálava can be reached either from the picturesque town of Mikulov or from several villages such as Pavlov, Horní and Dolní Věstonice, Klentnice, and others. You can explore the Pálava area on beautiful marked trails as a hiker or cyclist.
