The municipality of Horská Kvilda lies in the middle of the Šumava National Park and is a well-known, though quieter, center for both winter and summer tourism. There is a large number of maintained cross-country ski trails, cycling paths, and marked hiking routes. Near the municipality is Jezerní slať with an educational trail and an observation tower.
