Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant is the first nuclear power plant built in the territory of the Czech Republic. The plant has 4 generating units with VVER 440 pressurized water reactors. The first reactor unit was commissioned in May 1985, and all four generating units have been in operation since July 1987. As part of increasing efficiency and utilizing power reserves, the installed capacity was increased from the original 4 x 440 MW to the current 4 x 510 MW.
