Litovel is a picturesque town in the Haná region, nicknamed the “Haná Venice” thanks to the branches of the Morava River. When strolling through the historic center, the Přemysl Otakar Square, the town hall tower, the plague column, and the St. John’s Bridge are worth seeing. One of the river branches, the Nečíz, even flows beneath the main square and the town hall tower, giving the town an unusual atmosphere.

For tourists, Litovel is interesting mainly as a gateway to the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area, a landscape of floodplain forests, wetlands, meadows, and river branches. The surroundings are suitable for hiking, cycling, and quiet nature exploration; popular options include educational circuits around the Litovel fishponds or routes through the floodplain forests. From Litovel, you can also head to Bouzov Castle, the Javoříčko Caves, or the Jeseníky Mountains.
